concerning the transit of Venus. 

Unfortunately for me, I didn’t get swept up by the hype over this event… I’m, somewhat arbitrarily, concluding its due to my inopportune location on our little sphere (somewhere in the ‘No Transit Visible’ bell-portion).

Another thing: as we know, 2004 saw this event take place for the penultimate time (in our lifetime). Chaz mentioned he witnessed, beer in hand, the transit atop a University roof with some mates. I personally don’t recall such a highly examined event in 2004. Is the current saturation over this occasion due to its finality, or is this a result of our newly adopted/updated forms of mass communication? Tumblr seems to be the main outlet for talk over this rare event…
